Whether you’re planning a big or small bar or bat mitzvah, the process can be overwhelming. From the religious ceremony and reading of the Torah to the celebratory reception for friends, classmates and family, the event encompasses numerous details that require careful attention.
What components should be included in your child’s bar/bat mitzvah? Let’s explore the tradition and how Seacoast Events rentals can make your celebration epic.

This celebration is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony marking a young person’s transition into adulthood within the Jewish faith. For girls, it is called a bat mitzvah and occurs at age 12, while Jewish boys celebrate it at age 13, calling it a bar mitzvah. The ceremony itself signifies that they are now responsible for their actions and can participate fully in Jewish religious life.
There are commonly two significant components to a bar/bat mitzvah: the religious ceremony celebrated in a synagogue and a party or reception held at a venue for family, friends and classmates.

The religious part of the event includes the child, now considered an adult in the eyes of the Jewish community, participating in the reading of parts of the Torah in Hebrew and delivering a speech interpreting their Torah portion, relating it to their life and the world around them. This portion of the ritual often takes months, if not years, to practice and learn. The ceremony usually takes place in the presence of a minyan, a group of ten Jewish adults.
Following the religious portion of the ceremony, a party is often held to celebrate the rite of passage. It commonly includes a meal, dancing, festivities and games for the pre-teens invited.
To keep partygoers entertained and engaged, we suggest collaborating with our team to have games and activities ready for your bar/bat mitzvah.
Some of our most popular activities include a photo booth, where guests can dress up with props and take home photo keepsakes. Our newest photo option, Draw Me, is always a hit as it takes a photo and creates an illustration of the person, making it a unique way to remember the event.
Depending on the space allowed at the venue, Seacoast Events also has a comprehensive list of games that could keep guests entertained, such as our larger than life sports, giant games, LED glow games and putt-putt golf options.
