Treat Your Party Guests to Interactive Entertainment

Now that summer is in full swing, it’s time to plan a movie night for your organization, family, or team. There’s nothing better than sitting under the stars, surrounded by friends and family while enjoying a big-screen movie!

Seacoast Events offers a service of an Outdoor Movie Night including an 11′ H by 20′ W inflated movie screen, professional sound system, and projector, and we’ll even deliver it, set it up, and break it down at the end of your night. For arrival time before the movie, we offer two cornhole games to entertain your guests while we wait for dusk to start the movie.

Here are a few tips on how to host your own outdoor movie night for your organization, team, or even for a small gathering of friends.

Choose Your Venue

Depending on the group, a venue location may be a school field, public park, or even your own backyard. The venue should be large enough to accommodate all of your guests and take into consideration the parking situation.

In many instances, schools and parks are free to use as long as you notify local authorities that you will be utilizing the space and that there will be an increase in traffic and cars on the night of your event.

Choose Your Date

Summer can be fickle in New England so try to plan your event when there is little to no chance of rain. This can be a challenge, but many find having a rain date helpful.

Site Prep

Now that you have a date and location for your movie night, it’s a good idea to make sure that the space is ready to go for your guests. This may include raking, cleaning the area, placing trash barrels in convenient spaces, and making sure the area can be decorated for your group.

For some groups who plan to have multiple activities ongoing, be sure you have ample space for games, food, and sprawling out during the movie.

Many hosts find that using twinkle lights or outdoor lighting helps to illuminate the outdoors just enough to allow for safe walking to restrooms or to fill up on snacks during the movie. These lights should be set up prior to guests arriving along with tables for food and drinks.

If you have chosen a theme for your movie night, arranging decor prior to the arrival of guests is also a good idea.

Movie Set Up

Our team at Seacoast will arrive with our projector, professional sound system, and inflatable screen to make your movie night a success. We will set it all up and help you load the movie of your choosing.

Finishing Touches

No movie night is complete without traditional movie snacks and comfortable seating to enjoy the outdoor cinema you have created. Whether you plan to supply seating in patio chairs, or camping chairs or plan to ask your guests to BYOC (bring your own chair), being comfortable is paramount. Some choose a beach theme and ask guests to bring a beach blanket or sand chair to make it feel like they are at the seashore.

Traditional movie snacks are a must, so pop some popcorn, stock up on full-size candy bars, and don’t forget the soda!

Seacoast Events can help you plan and execute a successful movie night whether it’s just for fun or as a fundraiser for your organization. Talk to our team today for a quote and more information.
