Campus Events That Foster Collaboration, Communication & Connections

College and high school campuses are just weeks away from opening up for the upcoming school year. The happy chaos of new students, activities, events and sports is about to descend on your campus. What’s a “welcome week” or orientation without games to help your student body get to know each other while having fun?

From icebreaker games to interactive entertainment, Seacoast Events offers a wide assortment of options to help your students transition back into school mode easily. Let’s take a look at some of the activities we offer that are ideal for fostering a sense of campus community and having fun while doing so.

Collaboration

One thing that new students comment on when trying to adjust to a new school is the anxiety when being grouped together, as they are brand new to the community. Games that foster collaboration (and a bit of fun competition) can help alleviate that anxiety and allow for collaboration in a safe setting.

Seacoast’s Larger Than Life Sports games can be just the right solution for nervous newcomers to get in on the action. Our games engage everyone, regardless of skill level, and put them on a team where they can collaborate. From curling competitions on a life-size curling track to becoming a key part of the game in a human foosball game, our large inflatables are fun to play and allow a level of silliness that gets students talking and laughing.

Other Larger Than Life Sports games include Axe Throwing, Pop-Shot, and the Field Goal Challenge. Check them all out online and get your group collaborating!

Communication

New students may feel nervous about talking to soon-to-be classmates, but with Seacoast games that require communication, you will have them talking in no time, first about the game itself, then eventually getting to know each other.

Some of our Giant Games help foster communication where teammates (and teams) work in coordination with each other. Players will recognize our Giant Games as they are similar to many games from their childhood, just in a large form! From Connect Four, Cornhole, Chess, Jenga, Lite Bright, and Twister to Malpractice (think your childhood game of Operation) and Pop-a-Shot, our games will get your students chatting and discussing strategy to become the ultimate winner.

Connections

Orientation and welcome week activities are commonly a time on campus where new students start to “find their people.” One way to help these connections become a reality is to provide fun and games where students work together, talk and bond. At the end of orientation, it’s nice to have a keepsake to solidify these connections, such as a photograph of the event.

Seacoast offers multiple photobooth options, providing a unique way to walk away from orientation with a keepsake from the event. Choose from our traditional photo booths or try one of our innovative options, including green screen or Draw Me.
